Who is Horace Ashton?

Horace Dade Ashton (1883–1976) was a pioneering news photographer, cinematographer, explorer, writer, lecturer, scientist, botanist, diplomat, and artist, who recorded stories from his life when he was eighty-six years old. These stories form the basis of this book.

Spanning the late nineteenth and three-quarters of the twentieth century, Horace’s life was filled with adventure, much of it captured in magazines and newspapers. He was dubbed the “original Indiana Jones,” and his exploits were validated by scrapbooks his sister kept that documented them.
